Can dogs eat pork?
Safe
Yes, plain and fully cooked. Never raw or undercooked, and no seasonings.
Also searched as: cooked pork, pork chop, roast pork
Plain, cooked pork is safe if you leave off the extras people cook with. Raw or undercooked pork carries a parasite risk, and pork fat can be hard for dogs to digest.
How to serve it
Cook the pork all the way through and serve it plain. Avoid seasoning rubs, onion or garlic powder, and barbecue sauce.
When to call a vet
Any new food can upset a dog's stomach. If your dog seems unwell after eating pork, or you are unsure, contact your vet.
