What we collect and why
- Messages you send us. When you use the contact form we receive your name, email address, the reason, the food name if you gave one, and your message. We use them to reply and to improve the site. Messages are sent by email and are not kept in the website database.
- Spam protection. The contact form uses a hidden field and a time check. If switched on, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a visitor is not a robot; Cloudflare receives technical details from your browser, such as your IP address, under its own privacy policy.
- Rate limiting. To stop abuse, we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address for up to one hour when you send a message or when a food page is counted. It cannot be used to identify you and is then deleted.
- Page visit counts. We count visits to food pages to see which pages are used. The count is not shown publicly and is not linked to you.
- Server logs. Our host and security software record technical details, such as IP addresses, to run the site and block attacks.
Cookies, analytics and consent
Analytics (Google Analytics 4 through Google Site Kit) and any advertising cookies load only after you agree in the cookie banner where the law requires consent, including in the EU, the UK and Switzerland. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link. Essential cookies do not need consent.
Settings stored in your browser
The site remembers your country choice for emergency helplines and whether you prefer metric or imperial amounts. These settings stay in your own browser and are not sent to us. We work out your likely country from your device’s time zone and language inside your browser; we do not look up your location.

If you follow an affiliate link or an advert, the company you visit may use cookies or collect information under its own privacy policy.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or to object to how we use it. To make a request, contact us.
