Can dogs eat pineapple?
Safe
Yes, raw and in small amounts. Not canned, and no skin or core.
Also searched as: pineapples
Raw pineapple in small amounts is an excellent snack. The tough core and the spiny skin can cause obstructions, and the syrup in canned fruit has too much sugar.
How to serve it
Peel the pineapple, cut out the core and slice a few chunks into bite-sized pieces. Do not give canned pineapple.
When to call a vet
Any new food can upset a dog's stomach. If your dog seems unwell after eating pineapple, or you are unsure, contact your vet.

Raw pineapple, in small amounts, is an excellent snack for dogs.
The tough, central core of the pineapple has the potential to cause obstructions, as does the spiny skin.
Canned pineapple, on the other hand, should be avoided.
