Can dogs eat almonds?
Caution
Better avoided. Almonds are not as toxic as macadamias, but they can cause a blockage and are high in fat. Salted or flavoured almonds add more risk.

When it is a problem
AKC says almonds can block a dog's oesophagus, intestines or windpipe, especially in small breeds, and that the salt on seasoned almonds can lead to salt toxicity in large quantities. The ASPCA notes that nuts such as almonds are high in oils and fats, which can cause vomiting, diarrhoea and potentially pancreatitis.
